FAQ

NFC review card questions, answered.

What is an NFC review card?

A credit-card-sized card with an embedded NFC chip. When a customer taps their smartphone on it, the phone automatically opens your Google review page. No app required.

Do all phones support NFC?

Most modern smartphones do — every iPhone since the iPhone 7 and most Android phones from the last decade. Each card also includes a printed QR code on the back as a backup for older devices.

Can I program the cards myself?

Yes. Buy blank NTAG215 cards and use a free app like NFC Tools to write your review URL. Takes about two seconds per card. Or order pre-programmed cards from us with your branding.

How many taps can a single card handle?

NFC cards have no battery and no wear limit. They work indefinitely — thousands of taps with no degradation.

What if I change my Google listing?

Your card links to a 5S Reviews short URL that redirects to Google. If your listing changes, we update the redirect on our server. The card never needs reprogramming or reprinting.

Can I lock a card so nobody overwrites it?

Yes. After programming, use NFC Tools to lock the card permanently. This makes it read-only so nobody can change the URL. Note: locking is irreversible.
